The position of Software Engineer is encompassing within the Global Service Now Competency Centre the whole 'value-added' chain involved in practically developing and implementing complex solutions in ServiceNow that meet the needs of the business partners. This includes the analysis of functional and technical requirements, and the design and configuration or customization of solutions.
Main requirement is the configuration of highly customized solutions on the DPDHL ServiceNow platform – mostly in the area of the end user portal (“RequestIT”).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configures, customizes and implements the requirements on the GSN platform working in an agile international team
- Works together with 3rd parties (contractors, business partners) in configuring GSN successfully and contributing to GSN as a global service management and workflow platform for DPDHL
- Applies standard best practice ServiceNow programming and configuration methodologies when creating new solutions or extending existing ones
- Adheres to DPDHL rules for GSN projects: Security, data protection, architecture, …
- Documents his work (technical documentation and also user documentation if needed) using the required standards, methods and tools – mostly as part of a SCRUM agile development cycle
- Coordinates with external service providers or 3rd party systems interfacing GSN in terms of using GSN, configuring interfaces, and assembling own or third-party system components
- Works as a great team player in a global team of developers, architects and support staff assisting developers and the support team if required to prevent delays or misunderstandings
- Assists in definition, initiation and design of architecture in projects/programs
- Provides expert advice, training and technical assistance to partners and team members
- Hands over his development work once completed to the GSN support team providing technical advice, guidance and training
- Participates in workshops or demo sessions with business partners to establish their requirements (presents technical concepts and proposals, and provides updates on deliverables)
